About Us
Wiseman Productions is the creative work of sibling film makers Dan & Bo Wiseman. Based in Exeter, in Devon in the United Kingdom and established in 2012 - Wiseman Productions create short and long form content, with a particular focus on working with charities, community projects and musicians and artists.
'Us' Documentary came about when Dan was wondering around the luscious fields of OffGrid Festival in glorious Devon back in 2017. With the theme of the festival being based around a more sustainable world and Dan's constant curiosity about what kind of world we could create if we put our collective minds to it, Dan pondered the idea of creating a visual census of that very concept: If you could change the world, what would that look like and how do people think we get to their vision.
Upon returning to OffGrid Festival the following year Dan shot the first few interviews for 'Us' and so its journey began! Those interviews sat for a while on a proverbial dusty shelf whilst the juggernaut of life swept away two years.
Since then over 70 interviews have been shot and many more are lined up. With diverse viewpoints from all walks of life: A Queen, a sales manager, a hip-hop artist, an MP and a Shaolin monk, an aspiring frog breeder. We're asking people from all faiths and socioeconomic backgrounds - the homeless the CEO’s, the key workers, politicians, celebrities, teachers, inmates, judges - Each participant responds to the same core questions.

By posing five sequential questions—ranging from basic survival to spiritual beliefs and ultimate societal visions—the project creates a standardised baseline to compare the aspirations of people from polar opposite walks of life. This methodological rigor aims to strip away cultural and economic noise to reveal whether humanity shares a universal software of hope despite our often violent disagreements over strategy. Ultimately, the project seeks to move beyond mere documentation to become an actionable blueprint, suggesting that global progress depends on reconciling our conflicting methods rather than inventing new goals.
